Star2Star VOIP

By jvanness ·
My compnay is looking for a new phone system to replace our 9 year old Altigen system. We are looking at a Star2Star system. I was wondering if anyone has any experience/feedback regarding Star2Star? They are an up and coming company and it is very hard to find any reviews or info on them.

Recommend Star2Star

by brogers2 In reply to Star2Star VOIP

Star2Star is a reliable VoIP provider and system. We have sold many systems and use it in our office as well. I would recommend it to you as a replacement to Altigen.

Star2Star Voip

Star2star is a very reliable VoIP system. They monitor your system 24/7 and have multiple layers of redundancy. It is however, completely dependent on your Internet connection and I would highly recommend having two seperate Internet connections to provide redundancy on your end. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Somehow, I'm not entirely buying this.

Call me crazy, but it seems like a subtle marketing attempt.

Self-marketing, too, in of all places, the blogs.

Questionable

Although the original poster has been a member for almost 30 month, this is his first post. The respondents are all fairly new, but they are replying to an apparently legitimate question. Hit the button and let Tammy decide.

Legit

by jvanness In reply to Questionable

This post is NOT a marketing attempt. I normally don't post because I'm usually able to find a post that already exists to answer my question. This time that was not the case. I have heard some horror stories regarding Star2Star systems. I am also looking at Shortel and Cisco.

NOT a Marketing Reply

by brogers2 In reply to Legit

We have been selling Star2Star now for 6+ months and have not had any service-related problems. I understand the reluctance to doing business with a "start-up", as we were just as reluctant to sell the product/service due to problems we have had with other providers. We have been in the business for 28+ years and have not seen an offering as unique, well thought out and reliable as Star2Star. They are doing it right...slowly and reliably, rather than trying to get something to market fast. They have actually been in business for 5+ years and have only been selling the existing product/service for about 18-24 months, all along the way making great strides. They continue to add features and functionality, as well as enhancing the offering. Please contact me if you would like to discuss in detail.

Star2Star Dealer

by nfredrickson In reply to NOT a Marketing Reply

Star2Star offers a "traditional architecture" telephone system that can utilize any broadband internet connection. Unlike a hosted solution in which each telephone station has its own line, Star2Star has a PBX like a traditional digital telephone system. Hosted solutions will price themselves out in with larger applications. The Star2Star architecture has call quality superior to a hosted solution. It is, however, very dependent on your internet connection. Consider redundant connections of DSL/Cable. Also consider incorporating at least one analog line for fail-over. In the instance of a cut connection Star2Star can route calls over POTS lines with a SPA3102 adapter. It is labeled "The World's Most Reliable Business Grade Internet Phone Solution" because of their tremendous attention to fail-over and QOS. Star2Star is a great company to work with. They are very responsive to requests, suggestions and questions. They are a profitable company that has achieved critical mass. They are financially sound with 24 months of straight cash reserves. We have several references available if you'd like to hear it from the horses mouth. These are personal customers that have had Star2Star installed and had time to experience the in's and out's of the system and features. 763.550.2000 x305

going with ShoreTel

by jvanness In reply to Star2Star Dealer

We have decided to go with the ShoreTel system. It is very troubling that it is so hard to find any info on Star2Star. At this point Star2Star is too much of an unknown to justify the risk. I have spoken with at least 50 people using ShoreTel systems and not 1 of them had anyhting bad to say. Thanks to all of the people who responded to this post. Your help/advice is appreciated.

Last Ditch Effort

by brogers2 In reply to going with ShoreTel

We are a partner of Star2Star's and I would be willing to set up a meeting with Star2Star representative's to discuss who S2S is and why we think it is the best solution in the market. It is unlike any other product anywhere, and we have been in the telecom business for over 28 years. You can contact me at cs@teleco.com if you are interested to learn more.
