Starting XP Professional on blank PC; no product code key...HELP!

By iawood63 ·
I have uninstalled the prior OS on my other PC, but I cannot find the 25-digit product code key for the install CD that is trying to install. How do I obtain the key?

Call Microsoft

and buy one. That is the best and possibly only legal way to do it.

If you had a legitimate license . . .

Microsoft licenses are provided for one machine only, however, if this is a hardware change only, Microsoft can assist you. Their key codes are designed to protect from piracy, not from legitimate use. They may provide you a new keycode under the right circumstances. If this is an entirely new machine, you may have to buy a second license. Read more at these sites:

But first, give his email address to the authorities so they can track him/her down and prosecute.
