Storyboarding software

By stevetrforum ·
Has anyone ever seen a program which makes it easier to create & track storyboards for a Web site or CD project? We're looking for one that allows us to indicate for each screenshot: the navigation controls, graphic elements, rough text -- AND links to other storyboards in the project -- then step back and get a site-map-view which shows interrelationships between screenshots. Would also want to print each storyboard and the site map or flowchart. Visio does not work well for this; you need to spend too much time fiddling to hook together every darn flowchart symbol, etc. PowerPoint comes close with its ability to ZOOM IN/ZOOM OUT from the whole project but does not offer the ability to create a site map. Dreamweaver's site map just offers teeny symbols for each screen.

Allen Communications (www.allencomm.com) has a product, Designer's Edge, which is made specifically for planning and designing technology based training projects. It does have storyboarding ability. However, I have not used the current version and don't know if it creates the "site maps" you are looking for, but it might be worth a try.

Macromedia Director would be your next alternative in creating and tracking storyboards. You can include scripting in each navigation and graphic elements used in your storyboards.

If you are familiar in programming, Visual Basic would be helpful in this case.
