Struggling

I am really struggling with trying to put mpg and avi movie extension onto a dvd, which i can watch on my TV

Could someone tell me (in easy terms) how to this and what software to use.

Take a look at http://dvd.box.sk

It'll have more info and software than anyone will ever need to master video.

Not really clear on what you are asking for. Do you have a downloaded movie that you want to burn to a disk that your standalone dvd player connected to your tv can play? If so you will need to know what formats your dvd player can handle (should say in your manual). Then you will need software for your pc to properly burn the mpg or avi file to a dvd disk in the proper format. These software apps can be purchased or you can download a number of good free ones from the internet. You will also need the video codecs for the proper format that you want to burn from and to.
