System32 directory & Logon

By james.belinfontie ·
I have several systems that were imaged and after logging onto the network Windows Explorer displays the system32 directory and I have searched thru the registry with no luck. If there is a particular key I can search for or change the value pleaselet me know? Thanks!!!

Not sure what you mean.

Does Windows Explorer start automatically whne you log on? If so, look in your Start menu's startup folder or in the registry in HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\current version\run and \runonce and \runonceex.

If you mean when you click on Windows Explorer on the start menu, look at the shortcut that starts it. Make sure it only references explorer.exe (with maybe one switch, /p or /b, I forget which, but it opens explorer in the familiar 2-pane view.) It's possible to add a switch which opens Explorer in a specific folder but I forget the exact syntax.

The first part of your response was right on the money and I found in the Run key a class name for ClientAgent:REG_SZ with no data. I compared that to some of the other systems I have and deleted that value, which took care of the problem.
