Tape Backup Driver

By randy_mckean ·
I have a Colorado Trakker 250 tape drive I would like to use with a Windows 200 Pro machine. However, I am having trouble finding drivers for it. I d/l several different drivers for Win95 and Win98, but they don't work with 2000. Anyone know where I can get the drivers? Or a work-around? Thanks.

Being an old tape drive, it's possible that there aren't any drivers for Win2000 (maybe they stopped manufacturing the drive before Win2000 was released?). May be you can try a Win NT driver instead.

Hope this helps

These drives were sold in the US by Hewlett Packard.

According to their driver page:

You can only get drivers for DOS, W95 and W98.
It looks like the NT driver is native in NT backup.

My question is just what do you expect to do with this tape drive?

If you can find tapes, you are limited to 250MB of compressed data on a tape.

For your Windows 2000 system, a CD-RW drive would be a better choice for inexpensive data backup.
