TCP/IP port not available for printing

By cpapst ·
Hi there,
I dont have the option to select a TCP/IP port for connecting or adding a printer. How can I go about installing this port so I have this available as a option. Other forums suggested that I format the relevant PC, but am thinking that there must be a resolution for this out there.
Appreciate any assistance!

thanks for the reply. this really only tells me how to install a printer using tcp/ip. i know how to do this and installing the port via the printer server settings. the problem i have is that i dont have tcp/ip as an option. it almost seems as if this has been un-installed. repaired the tcp/ip stack, also no luck. i am sure you posted something before on how to get this option back?

Have you tried

uninstalling the TCP/IP stack, reloading and then re-installing the stack?

This seems like a problem somewhere very deep inside windows and only a full reinitialization might fix it.
