TechRepublic Daily Digest WITH DEAD-LINKS !!!

    Locked

    by robert ·

NOT FOR THE FIRST TIME – I receive a TechRepublic Daily Digest, like on Jul 17, 2007, titled:

[TechRepublic] Purge bad links from your Favorites list with handy tool

ONCE I CLICK ON IT, ONLY TO FIND THE LINK TO SAY:

    This item is currently unavailable
Please browse the Most Popular or Most Recently Added items currently available.

WHY BOTHER TO SEND OUT SUCH LINKS – WASTING MY TIME AND MAKING YOUR DAILY DIGEST SOMETHING I DON’T HAVE ANY TRUST IN OR WISH TO READ AGAIN.

    Robert

      Apologies

      by Selena Frye ·

In reply to TechRepublic Daily Digest WITH DEAD-LINKS !!!

We apologize for the bad link. The links are in working order as of the time we send out the newsletter, but we’ve discovered that, unfortunately, they are sometimes altered or removed without the editors’ knowledge.

We are investigating this problem and will take steps to prevent it in the future.

In the meantime, the AM-Deadlink software can be accessed here, at the creator’s Web site:

      http://www.aignes.com/deadlink.htm

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Apologies for the confusion – Link fixed

      by Bill Detwiler ·

In reply to TechRepublic Daily Digest WITH DEAD-LINKS !!!

I apologize for the confusion and the bad link. When I last checked the download link, it worked. At some point between now and then, the link became unavailable.

I have updated the gallery with a link to Martin Aignesberger?s Web site (http://aignes.com/deadlink.htm)?the creator of AM-DeadLink. You can download the software there. I have also fixed the original link to the TechRepublic Software Library.

Again, I apologize for the confusion and assure you I am taking steps to prevent this from happening in the future.
