Telnet service for windows machine?

Can any body tell me about the Telnet service for windows machine?

If there is some service which can be run on a Win 98 m/c,pls do let me know.

It's not a service... when connected to the Internet, you just basically go to a DOS prompt and type in TELNET x.x.x.x (replacing the x's with numbers relating to the ip address of the server you wish to connect to).

hyperterminal is a telenet app included in w98 go to start-programs-accesories-communications-hyperterminal

if this is not there you have to add it

control panel-add/remove programs- windows setup- communications and check hyperterminal.

or you can do as the other post suggested and just go to a dos prompt.

As far as I've seen, there is no direct Telnet service under Windows. Using a third party software is the only alternative. I currently use Telnet services for the setup of new email accounts across the network on my ME box, and it is specifically utilized through and by my email daemon.

I want to have remote control of my m/c thru network from some other windows' m/c.

Win 98 is the OS

The best answer I can give you is use VNC.
It's free/fast and can be used via a webbrowser to control the PC from anywhere in the network.
