Temporary Internet files

By webmaster ·
I am trying to find a way to delete temporary internet files from users machines during login. The problem is that I have users that are on 3 platforms (95, 2K, XP). I haven't been able to make 2k or XP delete the contents of the temporary internet files folder. THey both cant see it through the dos prompt (ie batch file).

Can anyone Help?!

On XP anyhow, the temp internet files are in a different location then for 9X. I suspect that w2k is the same.

documents and settings\user name\temporary internet files

Since the path will be different for each user, you need to customize thebatch file.

Alternetely, you could change the folder for temporary files on each machine.
The best way for your setting would likely be to use the IEAK (internet explorer administration kit) from Microsoft.

you can try the following command in the batch file for 2000/XP:

rd/s/q C:\docume~1\%username%\locals~1\tempor~1

See if that works for you!

If you download and install Tweakui from the Microsoft website for each of your platforms. When you open them either from control pannel or start/run/tweakui, their is a paranoia section in here you can clear documents, temp internet files etc whena user logs on.
