Test discussion!

This discussion is simply a test discussion for various web browsers that I use. I'm starting it with IE 10 on Win 7 SP1 32 bit, and will post replies with a variety of different browsers/engines. Feel free to add your system details, such as operating system, browser, engine, etc.! I'm trying to work up a list of browsers that seem to function with the new site. Also helpful would be to add details of a browser that did NOT work!
Thank you,

Windows XP SP3, 32 bit, 3 gig RAM, Opera 11.64 32 bit.
Dillo-Win32 did not function, lacks javascript support, D-Plus for Windows, based on Dillo, also did not work, again, lack of javascript support.

This is an attempt with the Dell Inspiron, but with IE 8

by wizard57m-cnet Moderator In reply to Test discussion!

let's see if it works, note that I am not in compatibility view mode, and the IE 10 post to start off was also not in compatibility mode.

One more test from the Dell Inspiron,

by wizard57m-cnet Moderator In reply to Test discussion!

this is using Opera 12.16 32 bit, should work since 11.64 worked.

This is probably the last test from the Dell Inspiron...

this time it is QupZilla, a webkit based browser, which I've used in the past couple of weeks to make other posts. Along with the Windows version, I've also had success using QupZilla portable on a Slackware Linux based distribution, Slax, that I boot on my little Acer Aspire One netbook. I may be testing the netbook later today, in addition to QupZilla, I also have Opera 11.64 Linux, Firefox 17.0.6 ESR and of course Konqueror (KHTML based, the basis for the webkit line of browsers) Previously, Opera and Firefox failed to post, however, QupZilla and Konqueror did post comments after the site changes.

Shrink your browser

by Slayer_ In reply to Test discussion!

Shrink your browser horizontally.
The top bar links disappear into a menu.

Which is cool but so far only works for me in FF16 and IE9. All others, nothing happens when you click it or hover over it.

-Edit
LOL, Editing a post takes you to a nearly empty page that doesn't link back to anything.

Testing Firefox ESR 17.0.8 on my netbook...

by wizard57m-cnet Moderator In reply to Test discussion!

This comment, hopefully, will post using Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) 17.0.8, with my Acer Aspire One ZG5 netbook, 1 gig RAM, Intel Atom, integrated graphics 1078x600. As I've tested Opera 11.64 on Windows, I might even try a reply from Slax as well, as that is what I am booted into, Slax 7.0.5, with persistent changes, via USB thumb drive.

And now for Opera 11.64 build 1403 Linux, in Slax...

Firefox ESR succeeded, but FF still seams slow to me. Opera 11.64 is pretty quick, though it has issues with some Google sites, and reportedly with Facebook, which I don't use. I do use one Google site. Opera 11.64 is the version I built a custom "Slax Bundle" from for Slax 7, as well as a module for older Slax 6.1.2. Konqueror is included with Slax, and I've successfully posted with it in the past, so I want torment myself and you with that one at this time!
Thank you to everyone that has managed a post, hopefully if anyone tried but failed, they will remember this discussion and let us know what failed, when the time comes that the gods of the internet allow them to post!
