+ 0 Votes Dunno, the folks who can answer that question are not answering questions robo_dev 3 years ago I have noticed there are fewer interesting questions, and more 'my cell phone battery died' kind of questions. + 0 Votes The calm before the holiday storm NickNielsen Moderator 3 years ago When I actually get consecutive days off and deluge the site with inanity. + 0 Votes In my case... jck 3 years ago a) depending more on freelance work, as I'm trying to save. b) female in my life...means less time for self-involved activities. c) work cracked down on "non-work" web browsing, and I got a "talking to" about it. d) been sorting things at the house for a possible move by the end of the year. + 0 Votes Spam Overload GSG 3 years ago I think it might be that we've all complained about the spam, and offered easy solutions to at least reduce the amount of spam, yet no one does anything about it except to delete the messages after they've been reported. Plus since the economy went down the toilet, there are fewer people to do the same amount of work, so we may not have as much time as we used to, or the inclination to do anything even remotely tech related after we're off for the day. + 0 Votes Site has died. seanferd 3 years ago Site is risen. Site will come again. + 0 Votes I don't have that much time to spend here AV . 3 years ago I can't do it during the day because I'm too busy at work, so the only time left is briefly at night or on the weekend. Sometimes I just read and don't post. The spam is bad sometimes, but TR does the best they can to keep up with it until they have a more sophisticated spam filter in place. Even then, spam will always be an uphill battle. TR plans to make site changes soon, so we'll see what happens. Myself, I'm in the middle of a new venture...buying my own business. Leaves little time for discussions at the present...lots of paperwork, licenses, certificiates etc. I probably won't be as busy with IT, although I'll be doing my own, but not much time for others. I still drop by and read the blogs, but this is the first comment I've posted in about 10 days! + 0 Votes No it hasn't. This site has not died. maxwell edison Updated - 3 years ago Just like IT itself, it changes; it adapts; it flows with the ebb tide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGPcDiiFhRs There's a reason why TR is still around after 10+ years when others have fallen by the way side. You just haven't been around long enough to see it. + 0 Votes I thought spam has been a lot better lately jasonhiner Moderator 3 years ago We had a deluge of Asian spam this summer but put some backend tools in place that helped tremendously. As for quality user contributions ... I've been encouraging people to post more stuff in the Q&A lately. We've got so many smart people here that can help figure things out that it's pretty impressive. I often brag that we have not just the largest community of IT pros on the web, but by far the most helpful. We're also planning some nice upgrades to the Q&A in the near future. Stay tuned for more on that! + 0 Votes The calm before the holiday storm NickNielsen Moderator 3 years ago When I actually get consecutive days off and deluge the site with inanity.
