By meltvn ·
Hi I am a technician but was thrown into the deep en when I was told that I am to manage 3 servers and three labs with 50 computers each form 10 October 02.
I do not know much about setting up servers in a domain environment not to speak about managing three labs???
I need help in getting the rite material to setup these servers or I?m gonna be fired!
Could any one please suggest the proper books to purchase that can help me in a meaning full way to setup and maintain these servers? The operating system is Windows 2000.

#1, Go to a computer tech school or sign up and start a Information Technologies program at your local college. As anyone here who has worked with networks based upon the Windows operating system can agree upon, you can not learn how to design, deploy, administrate or troubleshoot a medium size Domain Name based network without taking structured courses and have hands on experience with all the different software packages [W2000 server or advanced server, Exhange server, ISA servers, IIS management, AND Windows 2000] that will be required for a medium size network[ 3 domains and 150 client computers.]

Go here for some Windows2K white papers:

(please remove any spaces)

These are the planning and deployment articles. They will be a place to start.
And feel free to post specific setup questions here.

Good luck!
