Toshiba qosmio G35-AV600 Hard Drive Problem

By altacc12 ·
So I go out and download the program Gparted its a live cd that you can make partitions with and stuff so I format my hardrives and partition them now when I try to re install xp it says can not find Hard Drives I no they are working because they show up in Gparted why windows can not see them I have no idea. I think its because the 1st hard drive is 1Raid0-1 or somtthing like that and the other is JBOD I have no idea what these terms mean. But I cant change them because I have to enter some numbers in the manuel which I do not have. So if anyone can help me that would be sweet.

Thank you for your time

With XP you need to push the F6 Key at the first Blue Screen

Then when Prompted insert a Floppy into A Drive with the RAID Drivers on it copied to the Root of the Floppy.

XP doesn't have native support for SATA Drives or RAID Arrays.

If you don't want to do that or are unable to, you can slipstream a Install copy of XP by following the directions here and adding the SATA/RAID Driver

[Read it all before doing it]
IMPORTANT NOTICE: when changing a hard drive from RAID to JBOD or vice-versa, ALL DATA IS DELETED.

This means that you should back up your hard drives so you don't loose all your files. [Don't do this if you don't know what you are doing] The sequence required for the Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600 is on the manual and it is as follows:
1 2 3 4 then press ENTER

Now when installing your Windows XP you will have to press F6 on the very beginning so that RAID drivers are installed. Otherwise, you will receive a message saying that the Setup did not find any hard disk drives. On my case, changing it to RAID did not resolve the "Setup did not find any hard disk drives" problem. Therefore, I do not recommend doing it.
