You'll have to be a bit more specific here

by OH Smeg In reply to touch pad(mouse) and quic ...

Did this work previously and it's stopped working or has it never worked since the repair?

How long has the sound not been working also?

If it's stopped since the repair then most likely there is a Hardware Issue and most likely the M???Board is the problem not the HDD but if it hasn't worked since being repaired it's possible that the unit was never reimaged correctly or that something different has been installed and the wrong drivers have been applied.

Anyway you should not have accepted it's return without it working properly or immediately returned it to the repairer with a fault list.

So assuming that it's suddenly stopped working and that the unit has not been exposed to Moisture the most obvious thing is a Hardware Failure in which case it need to be returned to it's Makers Representative for repair.

I would return it to the place that did the repairs and get them to fix it properly.

Whatever they have done here is the problem.

Can you attach a usb mouse and will that work? If so, I bet its a device driver that is corrupted.

HP Drivers

by restbyte In reply to touch pad(mouse) and quic ...

Hi
1. I don't no what they are for HP and they could be different for different laptops but there is probably a key combination that re-enables the touchpad, try searching HP touchpad enable or disable..
2. look in the control panel under mouse, see if the touchpad is disabled.
If you don't see any reference to the touch pad, you probably need to re-install the driver.
3. Get the disk or go to the HP euro site, support and follow the prompts to identify your laptop.
. find, download, Install the driver.

Function keys I am not sure about.
