UDP traffic from Windows Server 2003 to 239.255.255.250

By BizIntelligence ·
Hi There,

Our Juniper firewall is catching UDP traffic coming from MS Windows Server 2003 and going to 239.255.255.250 on port 1900. I have managed to find that port 1900 is used by SSDP service. But how do I stop it sending traffic?

There is no guide for Windows Server 2003.

Please help.

Cheers !

It appears that port is used for Universal Plug-and-Play; the IP you mentioned appears to be a broadcast-style IP, so I assume this is your WAN IP?

Anywho, from the research I've done, you can get a utility that disables UPnP from http://www.grc.com/unpnp/unpnp.htm - Hope this helps :)
