Unable to change homepage on Internet Explorer

I have set my Internet Explorer home page to "www.google.com" but when i try to open my home page it redirects to some other address eg., "www.yahoo.com" why does this happen and what es the solution for that. Can solve this using registry.

You can try this

Its a bat file, paste to notepad and save as internet.bat

@echo off

set key=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

set value=Start page

set data=www.google.com

reg.exe add "%key%" /v "%value%" /d "%data%" /f

...but this sounds suspiciously like someone trying to circumvent a GPO setting the home page in IE.

That, or someone trying to provide phone support to someone trying to circumvent a mandatory homepage policy.

It would just change back after the next log on then, so what would be the point I no were you are coming from but i would be suspicious if he comes back and says how do i get round a proxy.

here is a solution to this problem
To change the Home page troughregistry.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey, if it exists:
******** HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Control Panel

4. delete the file called HomePage present in detailed view
5.then open the internet explorer and set your homepage
