Unable to delete/move OL 98 items.

By aabate ·
Our org. uses OL98 C/W with Exchange Server 5.5.
Every once in a while I get a call from a user trying to Delete/Open or even move an item from one folder to another. An error is received saying it is unable to move the item, it may have already been moved or deleted. ???

Thanx.
Art

Sometimes the screen doesn't refresh very quickly. I've seen it happen where an already-deleted/moved item is selected again. Have them click to a different folder and then click back to the this folder and see if the item is still there.

Also, are the items of any particular type? E-mail, calendar, tasks, etc.?

Typically, this happens when Outlook is configured to show a message when new mail arrives. If you have already read the message when you click yes on the pop-up, the message may have already been deleted.

Hope this helps.

Art,

Often times I see people minimize Outlook windows, then they go in an delete or move things around in the main window. So when they maximize an email (that has already been deleted) and try to delete it, they can't; because it already has.
Hope this helps.
