Unable to resolve Event ID 7022 problem

By limsh ·
I am trying to resolve Event ID 7022 problem without reinstalling NT server 4.0. However, I could not even get Networking icon functioning to reinstall NetBios interface. I discovered User Mgt, Server Mgt, services etc are not functioning too.

Unable to resolve Event ID 7022 problem

by rick_b In reply to Unable to resolve Event I ...

This is a pretty generic Event ID. The most common cause is by NetBios being corupt.
Check out this site
http://www.jsiinc.com/TIP2000/rh2096.htm

This is also a problem if you have alot of HP Printers running DLC protocol as well
see http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q137/3/99.asp

I hope that helps

I also found this one about WINS being corrupt.
http://stratyx.dyndns.org/nt/tips/wins_database_missing_or_corrupt.htm

Check out the about sites for the specific registry key that you will need to edit.
Take Care

Unable to resolve Event ID 7022 problem

Thanks for your quick response. I do not think my problem is related to DLC or Wins database issue.
I got several same error msgs of "The procedure entry point IoUnregisterDeviceInterface could not be located int eh dynamic link library NTDLL.dll"from windows pop up titled "SAS windows: winlogon.exe - entry point not found", "userinit.exe - entry point not found", "services.exe - entry point not found" & "service control mgt - entry point not found". Looks to me some files being corrupted.I cannot use the "network" icon in control panel to recover Netbios problem, how can I accomplish without reinstall NT server? Thanks.

Unable to resolve Event ID 7022 problem

Try this:

According to MS KB Q199352, This behavior can occur if the NetBios data value is missing from the registry.

To resolve this behavior, use Registry Editor to add the "NetBios" (without the
quotation marks) data value to the DependOnService multi-string value in the
following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Messenger

The DependOnService multi-string value should include the LanmanWorkstation and
NetBios data values.

NOTE: The DependOnService multi-string value is displayed as a hexadecimal number
when you use Regedit.exe, and as a REG_MULTI_SZ value when you use Regedt32.exe.
Therefore, you should use Regedt32.exe to add the NetBios data value.

Good luck,

Maxwell
