Unable to see PC on Windows network

WinXP SP2

User can browse the Microsoft network and see other computers, but his own PC is not showing up.

Ensure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled in TCP/IP properties. Click on Advanced radio button then WINS tab.

Also try disabling Windows firewall if enabling NetBIOS doesn't help.

Ensure there is no computer name conflict, and no IP address conflict.
Does this computer actually have shares available? File and printer sharing enabled? SP2 firewall allows?
Make sure the workstation and server service are running.

Strangely enough, the file and print sharing was un-checked, although this setting was one of the first I previously verified and it was ON.
Well, I guess, that solves it.
