Unexpected network error - Rdr

By techless ·
On my small NT network I have several NT workstations that have get this message in the event detail (system log):
An unexpected network error has occured on the cirtual circuit to USER2.
This message is there several times, once for each of the other users on my network.
What might cause this error, and what are some actions that might fix it?

Note catagory and error #. Aquire a technet cd (can be an old one since error messages don't change)and type in catagory <error #> on search. Technet will provide detailed information about you problem, and how to resolve them.

We had messages like that on our server. It was bad Cat 5 cabling to a workstation. Check the wires and connections at \\USER2 and at the hubs.

I've also seen this happen when NT tries to access resources on a Win95 machine with an older version of Vredir.vxd. The version to fix this at the Win 95 client is available from Microsoft, but it's one of those "not fully regression tested" and you have to obtain by phoning Microsoft Tech Support. It's not available for download.

I'll do some checking of the cables. Any idea if it might be a port in a hub / router? Thanks.
