Uninstall of Mandrake 8.1

How do I completely remove Mandrake 8.1 from my existing harddrive. I need the drive for a windows system.

Depends on which version of windows you put on. If it is XP or win2k you can simply reformat the drive by booting up with the disk. If it is win98, you need to boot up with the win98 boot disk, choose FDISK at the prompt and then remove all non dos partitions.

You also may need to boot from a floppy or Windows CD-rom and type fdisk /mbr from the command line to remove the linux loader if you installed it to the Master Boot Record.
