Uninstall SharePoint from SBS2003?

By rr0s3 ·
I run a network with SBS2003. My users cannot log-on to the
Remote Web Workplace service, as well as Outlook Web Access.
They receive an incorrect logon error, unknown user/password.
I have been through the MS KBs on the subjects and found some
instances where the SharePoint security privileges over-rode the
Windows/Exchange privileges and can deny access. I went
through the changes from MS to fix, but still not working. Since
the organization I suport doesn't use the SharePoint services and
is only interested in Remote Desktop and OWA access, can I
unsinstall SharePoint (it is in the Add/Remove list) and take it's
security Dbase with it....???

Have you installed any and all patches from the SBS 2003 web site? I suggest you visit the SBS 2003 web site and install any hotfixes, patches for ALL items INCLUDING Exchange Server [visit Exchange Server site for hotfixes and patches]. I also recommend strongly that you go to the Windows 2003 SBS newsgroups forum and ask there whether Sharepoint is an intergral part of SBS or whether you can uninstall it. I remember some discussions during the release candidate stage that Sharepoint had to be installed. I also remember some discussions on some problems with Sharepoint during the RC testing.

You can remove sharepoint services from SBS 2003

You will not find it under Add/Remove programs.

You have to run the Small Business Server setup again and use the maintenace mode to remove it.

But that may not fix your problem. Sharepoint services should not affect Remote web workplace.
