Unix and Specialix RTA's

By mis ·
Is there anyone here who is familiar with Specialix Remote Terminal Adaptors? We are currently using 14 of them in a 24/7 environment and are experiencing problems with swapping out units that have failed. Specialix support has been useless and we need to be able to swap out the RTA's using either config.rio or rioadopt.

I've only ever used Specialix MTA's but points worth noting:

The newer MTA's would only work with higher revision host adapters.
Newer servers with 100MHz bus speeds required a PCI host adapter

We use Specialix Remote Terminal Adaptors 24/7 also. In my experience when swapping the rio, in rioconfig the rta should be configurated to match the rta it is replacing. The name of the rta and the numbering scheme should be the same. We've used the rtas over six years now and this has been our method. If you have additional questions please contact me again. russ@dlcmhc.com
