    I have windows 98 se. I cannot upgrade the drivers for the monitor kds xf-9e. I go to display in control panel. I go to “have disk” and put in location of the drivers from the manufacturer and I get a window that says that I am using the best driver already.

      That response usually means that the driver in use is the same or newer than the one you are trying to install.

      Usually, the default Windows monitor drivers work fine.

      If you are having graphics problems, or if Windows is not identifying your monitor properly, install updated drivers in the following sequence;

      AGP mini-port driver for the chipset on the motherboard.

      DirectX (from Microsoft)

      Specific driver for the video card (display adapter)

      Monitor driver.

      When attemptingto install the KDS driver, make sure that the monitor type is set to either the KDS model, or other.

      Small addition. Tiny really.

      The AGP patch is commonly for VIA chipsets.
      Make sure you’re using the correct patch for your Mainboard chipset. Normally the wrong one won’t install, but that wouldn’t the dumbest mistake a hardware manuf. has ever made. Trust me.
