I recently purchased hp compaq cmt d530 with Windows XP pro sr 1, i installed Office 97 on it and want to run a Urdu word processor called "Urdu PageComposer Pro" and it compatible up NT4. I installed fine, but when run it it did not type in Urdu. I used all methods but nothing works. Your help highly appreciated.

Since NT4 is quite a bit older than XP sp1 there is a good chance the software may not work. Have you checked for updates/patches to your software? Have you run the software on an older O/S, like Windows 98?

Urdu Page OCmposer pro is only compatible with "Works in English Windows 95/98 & NT"

This would omit XP.

YOu also may want to upgrade to Page Composer 3 which is the same thing but a little newer, though it is also said to only support Win9X and NT.

I found a page on setting up the phonetic Urdu keyboard onWin2K and XP, you may get somehelp on this site.

Other comments point to changing the keyboard to Farsi in Win200 and XP.

Page Composer is a very problematic piece of software. You should really try InPage Urdu, obtainable at www.languagearcade.com
