User Passwords

By doubledelightfull ·
Hello, because of the type of users I support and the lack of support behind me as a administrator force password changes were stopped. Now that everyone is scared to death of being hacked security has once again, become a "top priority"

My newsupervisor asked that we try to put together a report to submit to our "Dean" that shows that the majority of our users are using a standard password and have not changed it at all over the last year.

I am running Novell 5.1 and would like to know is there a way to view my users passwords on the network. Can I print it and use it in our next meeting to urge a change in policy with regards to stepping up network security? Thanks!

Sorry:
They woldn't be passwords if you could see or print them. If they aren't alphanumeric and at least six characters long they can be cracked.
You didn't say what version of NetWare you were using? We are still using 4x and as far as I know it doesn't have the ability to demand alphanumeric, I wish it did. NW6 may be different, I haven't gotten there yet. Good Luck.
