Is there a way to have the system notify users when their space allocations is running low? Say at 80%, 90% of their space limits on a particular volume.

No, however that would be a very useful utility to users. Currently the only way a user finds out their running low on disk space it when it's to late. Their may be some thrid party tools out there that may do this.

Do it in their login script!

Get a small book on Novell login scripts. There is a variable for user space limits and you can tell the user during login how much he has used of his allocated space.

There is a freeware app that
will put an icon in the tray to show the
user when their space limit becomes critical.
It's called NWQuota and you can find it
over at www.netwarefiles.com
