using a database without a server

By moke ·
I am not sure if this is the right topic to be using, but I would like to know how I can use a database with my application without running it on a server. For example, Nero has a user cd database with it's cd burning program. I want to create an app that won't need a server. I know how to create one for sql server 7 already.

Hope this helps

If you are running a PC you will need to first install the Access 2000 for best results. Access uses the ODBC driver already installed. From there you can preference all your connections and settings to hit the access database you have created. If you use Dreamweavers Ultradev, it allows you to use access as well on the local machine however it makes it much easier to format the connection and even test it first before you start programming.

Good luck.
