Utility to reverse output of IPCONFIG

By 4-Toes ·
I'm looking for a utility/script that would essentially import into the registry the parameters like those shown in the result of the IPCONFIG /ALL (minus the IP Address and Gateway, of course). Or does anyone know what the registry hive(s)/value(s) names would be to export WINS, DNS, and DNS Search Order values to a ".reg"-file which in turn could be edited. Then, could be imported (with changes).

I can think of 4 letters - DHCP. That could do what you want - by discovery then altering. However, I am not sure of the hive values. Sorry bout that.

Could be, but we're not using DHCP. Unfortunately we're static. It's going to be very time consuming the change WINSs, DNSs, DNS Search order for 2000 workstations. Simply want a ".reg" template to import into registry to overwrite what's currently there. Thanks, anyway.

Utility to reverse output of IPCONFIG

Instead of trying to script it, I would try to use NETSH command. I do it when I take my laptop from home where I'm DHCP, to the office, where I'm using static.

{
netsh interface ip set address "Local Area Connection" static YOURIP YOURSUBNET YOURGATEWAY 1
}

this link will tell you exactly what you want also:

remember if it wraps, take all the sapces out and pasteinto the browser. Good Luck, ~Leptor.
