Are you using Windows XP or ME? Turn of System Restore (in control panel, system). After that clean your system from virae. If that doesn't help (once certain malware is active, this malware prevents antivirus software from doing its duty), you could remove the disk from your PC and place it in another, virus free, Antivirus software up-to-date PC as slave, and then clean your disk in there. By booting from a clean PC the malware on the slave drive doesn't have a chance to get active before it has been cleaned out.

download a free software called ad-aware. it checks for malware (trojans, tracking cookies, data miners and so-on) and you can either quarantine or delete these. after downloading, run a full system scan. after this, run a full system scan using your anti-virus with updated virus definitions. do all these with system restore off. once ure done, turn system restore back on

The other problem to run is Spybot S & D which seems to compliment Adware. Just ignore the warning Adware gives about it doing the same job. The system retore thing is the way to get around it. Or don't go to those porn sites.

The firewall won't stop viruses and antivirus is not perfect either but it does help.

Try downloading this free antivirus and do a scan of your system. (Even popular antivirus software can find viruses that other popular ones don't)

You can also do online scans of your system with these two

www.housecall.antivirus.com (from Trendmicro)
and
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm (from Panda)
These shouldn't replace your installed antivirus programs but they will help keep your system virus free. Good Luck

Also as mentioned above system restore should be off to delete the restore points that are on the system.
