Voting analog signals

I would like to vote the analog output signals from different channels which will be either /-5V, 0V to 10V, /-10V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA. Please suggest how to achieve this. This is required to move the system to a safe state when ever there is a failure of one of the system in redundant environment

What do you mean by voting? Do you mean measuring? Is there a computer, data acquisition hardware or application involved with any of this?

Signal Conversion and ADC

by TheChas In reply to Voting analog signals

Years ago, you would have used signal conditioning circuitry and then a set of comparators to allow for any out of band signal to set a fault condition.

Now, you can use any of a number of ADC or Data Acquisition boards to perform an analog to digital conversion, then use software to flag the out of band signal and signal for a shutdown.

Companies such as Dataq Instruments and Measurement Computing have a lot of options for you to look at.

Measurement Computing just introduced a DAQ module that includes BlueTooth along with SDK software for Android apps.
