    VPN and RDP simultaneously with separate network connections

    I’ve got two XP machines, one of which performs a very specialized function, to which it remain solely dedicated. I would prefer to stash it out of the way (no display, keyboard, or mouse) and just connect to it/control it via RDP when necessary.

    HOWEVER, that secondary machine occasionally needs to be connected via VPN to an offsite network, and obviously firing up that VPN would disconnect the RDP session I would be using to control it.

    Bottom line is, I want to use a peer-to-peer wireless connection to run the RDP connection over, and have the two machines connected to the internet with physical NIC connections. It all works perfect in my mind, but I can’t get XP to cooperate.

    How can I configure my computers to work like this?

    PC #2=VPN=(Cable)==offsite network

    wireless
    peer-to-peer

    [RDP]

    PC #1——-(Cable)—-Internet
