vpn port configuration through firewall

I have just setup the a windows 2000 machine to accept incoming VPN connections, but I need to know which ports need to be forward from the router

If your VPN tunnels are PPTP and defaulted to standards as I am assuming here then you want to forward TCP 1723 packets to your VPN Server.

You may also want to keep in mind that PPTP uses GRE (General Routing Encapsulation) that would be recognized by firewalls as a Port 47 Protocol ?rather? than TCP/UDP once established. See here for details:
