W2K security on NT network

By Numbies ·
We have installed Windows 2000 on our NT network. All was working well until our enforced password change asked these users to change their passwords. Although their systems accepted the change of password. they could not access network resources. The only way I could get it to work was to change their passwords back to the old ones.

Any ideas???

This is a long shot, but you might want to look at the password options in the local security policy; there is one that has to do with how new passwords are stored (reversible encryption) that is disabled by default. If enabled, it could possibly cause a problem like you've described.

Incidentally, I'm assuming you have an NT Server domain and W2K Professional Workstations; if the server is W2K, then I'm completely clueless.
