W2K user runs Crys Rpt & makes new SC

By bapril ·
When he logs on then opens a Crystal Reports report and updates it then saves it, something creates a shortcut on his desktop identical to what he used to run the report. The report is running from a network location. Network is Novell 5. Why is thedesktop shortcut being created?

This sounds as if the default save location is the desktop. If the user when ready to save report go to Save As. He could then choose the directory that he or she would like the report to locate to. I know this is a very simple, but it is the only thing that I can think that is causing ur problem. If this is not the problem please give more info. regards

The user was able to save the file to the network directory that he is accustomed to. It's just the shortcut that was left on the desktop. BTW, it suddenly stopped 2 days ago without our support staff having changed anything.
