Wallpaper changes in Win95 don't hold

By gkeel ·
I am working on a couple of older Win95 (a version) that will not hold a chnage in wallpaper. You can change the wallpaper but when you reboot the machine it reverts to the original. These machines have not been setup with policy files so I know it must be a registry key that is set but I can't find the key I need to change.

Can anyone help?

Wallpaper changes in Win95 don't hold

by Blackcurrant In reply to Wallpaper changes in Win9 ...

Hi

I had exactly the same problem with a Siemens machine running W95 that refused to discard the Siemens logo from the desktop. I tried changing it using display properties and also edited the wallpaper line in win.ini, but it kept coming back. Ieventually got round it by renaming the C:\windows\fileneme.bmp that the wallpaper statement in win.ini was pointing to.

Hope this is useful

Mark
