We need a little drama around here

I'm getting depressed when I look at whats become of the Water Cooler. I think this video pretty much sums up my mood when I look at this joint.

http://now.msn.com/now/0411-henri-existential-housecat.aspx

The Water Cooler has such a rich history with many posts by one of the great founding fathers, Maxwell Edison. We had the TR Garden Club and the Catch up Cafe. We had FNM and flame wars, sometimes. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, but we always had *something*. Lets do it again.

There was a community here once in the Water Cooler and there can be again. New members are always welcome.

Post something. Anything. Your choice. Add to the discussion.

PS: Keep it (somewhat) clean

It isn't a tech thing, but I love this place in NJ.
http://www.sandy-hook.com/ Its not fancy, but just a great beach day with a great view of NYC. The ocean is awesome.

not drama but...

this is one of my favorite places to go camping. If any of you nice folks make it to Nova Scotia, this is one place worth checking out if you're into camping http://www.parks.gov.ns.ca/parks/blomidon.asp

Thanks for that!

I've been interested in visiting the Maritimes for a long time, and may finally get up that way soon.

I hope to get to NS some day

by JamesRL In reply to not drama but...

I've been to Halifax, want to go to Cape Breton, maybe with my pop up trailer. I'd like to photograph the Cabot Trail when the leaves change.

Blomidon looks like a great place.

I want to see puffins one day.

Going in the opposite direction, I also want to see flamingos and spoonbills.

I haven't seen any Puffins around Nova Scotia

by Darryl~ Moderator In reply to I want to see puffins one ...

I think they mostly stay over on Newfoundland in Atlantic Canada, that doesn't mean the odd one doesn't **** over the Strait to Cape Breton though....we get some sealife & birds native to your area blown up here every so often during hurricanes.

The leaves changing in Cape Breton

by Darryl~ Moderator In reply to I hope to get to NS some ...

can be tricky to catch, there's so many hills & valleys that you never seem to be able to see them all change at once...it usually occurs over 3 or 4 weeks. They just re-paved the Cabot Trail a couple years ago so it's a much more pleasant drive than it used to be.

I always thought Nova Scotia would be beautiful to visit

by AV . In reply to not drama but...

I had no idea there were fairy shrimp. They look too beautiful to eat.

The Water Cooler is now full of Spammers

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to We need a little drama ar ...

Even Purp and AV are posting what just has to be Spam but because they are neither new members who joined in 2011 or 2012 I'll leave those here and allow another Moderator to make a decision as to weather or not to remove Purp's post.

And AV Maxwell was by no means the first to be a Big User of the Water Cooler there was GOD, Guru of Dos who dragged Maxwell in long before it was called the Water Cooler officially by the PTB @ TR. We had been calling it that for a very long time before that Moniker was officially adopted. Things like the Friday Yuk used to be very big before the community was effectively Gutted with the last site downgrade.
