web application on startup

hello.
i have a tomcat web application (in struts framework) and i need to add it to linux startup. am using redhat 9. can anybody guide me through?i have actually ran apache tomcat successfully. but when i tried the web application (standalone) , the system haults after the web app is started. (after “HTTPConnector[8084] started as background thread”)..the web applicatin has successfully started but the problem is linux wont continue to boot up..
please help, anyone.

Wait. Is Linux not booting or is Tomcat not booting on startup?

Do you need to start Tomcat at boot time? Why are you rebooting your server so often?
