I'm posting again to see if this works. Hopefully you will have all these features back working again soon!
Folks, I saved many favorite articles over the years on Tech Republic, and they are ALL GONE! Is there a way to recoverthese? I am not happy. The new site is also slow and obnoxious to look at on a smaller laptop screen. I hate it.
Let me itemize the ways -- the "Discussions" links don't work by clicking on them; I must right-click the link and select "Open Link in New Tab." (Browser: Firefox - up to date v22) If I click on the links under "Explore" and "Services," nothing happens, as above in "Discussions," unless I right-click and "Open Link in New Tab." My name doesn't show at the upper right corner, like I am not logged in; then, when I click on the silhouette up there, I am taken to the login page, where I see that I am "logged in." I have saved articles in the "5 things" series, such as "5 portable antivirus and antimalware tools," and all I see are the images to click on. No more link to "view this as a post in the "5 things" blog. No dates/times on the postings; why not? This helped me see the context of the messages by when they were posted (recently or two years ago.) Please, polish this site up and make it a pleasure to visit again, because these changes are forcing me to consider not coming here at all.
When I go to any page it starts to load, then goes to a blank page while trying to load cdn.clicktale.net, which apparently is a feature to track everywhere we go and click on a Web page. Good luck with that if the page won't load. I was only able to get here by disabling Javascript. It looks like my days at TechRepublic may be numbered. I'll have to find a site that I don't have to fight to read.
Hi Al S
Your bookmarked content can be found in your profile under the tab "My Activity", and then by selecting "Read Later" you should see your bookmarked activity, please let us know if you are still not seeing your bookmarked articles
Thanks and regards
Since the site has changed, I no longer have my bookmarked articles. Are the gone or how do I access them?
Welcome to the new Community site for TechRepublic!
We are excited about our new design and hope you will be as well! Along with a new look, we also have some new upcoming features that we are excited for you to check out that we are sure you will really love - Such as the one that will be over in the Tech QA forum - it is one that will allow you to give that well deserved pat on the back when someone has given you an awesome answer to a question you have. You will be able to mark their Answer "Resolves Question" which in return will place an awesome badge next to their Answer saying "Best Answer". Course not everyone's comment can be a Best Answer, it must a a top level answer (no clarifications and afraid no children, just the parents will qualify), and only one Best Answer per Thread. This is just one of the new many other exciting features coming your way real soon, but the in the meantime - Take a look around the new place, see what you think! But remember....
We do know though that even after months and months of hard work and even with the best bug spray, that sometimes them darn creepy crawlers just seem to manage to find there way into the smallest cracks, because of this, we have created a spreadsheet for you to log any of these creepy crawling things you might find and we'll get right on them.
You can find the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/a/cbsinteractive.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Am6thtySNMMxdE1NRDJ3cm9jYWJud0kzTmFvUGVPQWc#gid=0
We do ask that you please use this spreadsheet as it will help us keep everything confined to a central location making it much easier for us to squish, smoosh and stomp out them bugs has fast as you catch them. Though we are hoping you don't find any.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to ask - I am always here along with a wonderful fine group of moderators who can assist in answering any questions you may have.
Come on in, the water feels just fine....
