Hello Everyone and welcome to the new Community forums for TechRepublic!

We are excited about our new design and hope you will be as well! Here are some of the more noticeable changes you will discover:

    Categories with sub-forums

Have a question about Windows? Well, now it will be much easier to find all discussions about Windows in our new Windows forum. Have a tip or trick to share with the community? There is a forum for that – Tips and Tricks.

Post types such as discussions, questions, idea, rant and more

Have an idea to share? Or maybe you want to alert the community to a new security issue? Now you can mark your new discussion based on what type of discussion it is – Discussion, Question, Alert, Praise, Tip, Rant or Idea.

    Watercooler name change

Before you panic, the watercooler has not gone away, it has simply been renamed “After hours”.

So, take a look around the new place, see what you think, but remember….

We do know though that even after months and months of hard work and even with the best bug spray, that sometimes them darn creepy crawlers just seem to manage to find their way into the smallest cracks, so if you find any we do ask that you please respond below which will keep everything confined to a central location making it much easier for us to squish, smoosh and stomp out them bugs as fast as you catch them. Though we are hoping you don’t find any.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to ask – I am always here.

Come on in, the water feels just fine….

Under the name and date of the starter of a discussion (or question) should be the name of the latest contributor and the time of the contribution, so that someone following a thread knows whether it is worth while opening it.

I am not sure I am following. Did you mean inside the discussion alert emails received?

No, I meant in the list of discussions there should be something like “Last updated by john.a.wills minutes ago”.

Nice to be able to get back in

I played hooky for a long time because the format was hard for our (locked down, ancient) systems to play well with the site, but it looks like things are better for access now. The site looks clean and while yes, change takes getting used to, IT people should be adept at switching gears. Here’s to bright and shiny!
