What is causing Event ID: 1001 every time I turn on my DSL modem?

By moneymaid ·
Error signature is BCCCode:100000d1
BCP1: 00000014
BCP2: 00000002
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: AE673B62

Event source: Winlogon

Every time after the modem is turned on, the system restarts and runs Checkdisk. There are different errors where the first allocation unit is invalid and windows trucates the entry.
I cannot figure out what is causing this. Did happen after reinstalling Verizon In-Home agent. New versions include FIOS software.

Knowing which OS you are using would make things a bit easier here

But this may apply

I would hazard a guess that when you used the Version Install Disc it's corrupted something. I personally never use the Software Option to setup this type of Modem. It's far safer to manually enter the Modems Setup Routine and set the required Fields there.

Maybe this will help.

This is an older post with similar event: http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-6230-0.html?forumID=101&threadID=213461&messageID=2185455&tag=content;leftCol

If this started after installing your Verizon software, then I suggest removing it and reinstalling, or see if there is a newer version or go back to your older one. Good luck!
