What's up with my laptop's BIOS?

By wompai ·
Ey guys,

My laptop does not boot. At least not normally. I have to go to the BIOS setup, change an option and than start it. Only then will it go to Windows. Otherwise the BIOS freezes during startup. What can this be and how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance.

What option do you have to change?

That would be a starting point and also what NB do you have?

The option to change doesn't matter. Just changing anything will do.

Well in that case

Set the Date & Time to correct values and then use the Performance Defaults. Save the changes as you exit the BIOS and then reboot.

After the OS Opens shut down leave for a few seconds and reboot.

If it boots now without an error use it as required and then when no longer needed shut down and leave till it's required again/ If it doesn't boot normally now look at whatever is used as a BIOS Battery needs replacing.

If it works properly after sitting for a while then the problem is solved.

If it doesn't reboot on the second attempt you need to replace the BIOS Battery.
