Which area should I go ??

By rsgautam ·
Please give me suggestions, which area should I go.

I very much confused about the new techs. VB.NET, C# and JAVA.

As I am a developer of VB for last four years. Now, I have to learn any one of these.

I want to which one could be the best for coming 5 years and more scopic and without much change.

Thanks,
Rajiv

The best answer at this time is to use a wait and watch policy. The IT industry is undergoing an upheavel - who emerges at the top of it will actually help you decide what you should focus on. I'd give it 3-5 months before deciding on which technology to focus on.
Hope I've been of some help :)
Cheers,
Hashim

I agree with the previous answer. But I also wanted to add that it SEEMS that learning Object Oriented programming would be a good thing.

No crystal ball from me - but a few thoughts

1) pick something you can be strong at - and get stronger. If you are strong on VB - get even stronger. You can still do quite well supporting older technologies for a long time. (I've been doing VMS work for 14 years+ and it's been going away every year for the past 14 years, and I still have work to do, and the more you become the more in demand you may be - but you might have to be willing to go where the work is) -

next I'd go for Java, then C#, and then VB.NET in that order. and try to do what you can to gain experience..

I wish I knew how to help..
