Which one to get? MCSA 2008 or MCSA 2012?

By zpaul_010 ·
Our company has more than 5k servers both physical and virtual. About 80% of them are still on Win Svr 2003. Since 2003 is nearing its EOL, Im predicting that we will upgrade eventually.
I plan to request transfer from Desktop to Server and i'd like to be an MCSA by then. Which path would you recommend for me to go?
MCSA 2008 then upgrade exam to MCSA 2012
or
go directly to MCSA 2012?
My problem with 2012 is, its really new and there's still a few training materials in the web. I'm just self reviewing so this is a big factor for me.

2008 is best.

I would recommend you to go with the MCSA 2008, as you have experience in 2003 it would be easier to appear for 2008 and saves your time for extra preparation and looking for 2012 tutorials etc.

I say start with MCSA 2008. You can upgrade to 2012 with a single exam. I wrote a bit more about it at my blog below.
