Why does my system keep restarting?

By Flynn_Legacy.exe ·
Here's my situation:
I had gotten a virus recently on one of my older rigs and I thought I removed it properly.
Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
My system keeps rebooting its left, nonstop. It will get as far as the XP logo and restart again...
It was running on XP home and I installed XP pro since I figured my best bet was to fresh. Now when I restart my system, it asks me to choose either home or pro. Pro boots up fine and I've tried to boot home again and it reverts back to the continuous restarting. Although pro runs boots I can't seem to connect to the internet at all...
I guess my question is, is there anyway of repairing home and accessing my old files?
I hope I described this well, thanks for your time...

Well instead of doing a Repair Install

You have done a fresh Install to a different partition.

All you need do here is in the Pro OS take Ownership of your Files/Folders by following the directions here;en-us;308421

Or if you wish to repair the Home Install follow the directions here to do a In Place/Upgrade Install

Either should work but depending on what actual Licenses you have I would probably stick with the Home Version to avoid M$ giving you a very big bill.
