Will the SAPPHIRE 4350 be powered by this machine?

By manny.rubero ·
I recently purchased a gateway SX2800-01. I wanted to upgrade from the integrated graphics and I know that my choices are limited so I found a low profile 4350 card with low profile brackets included. Anyway my question is will it be fine with a 220 watt PSU?

It wouldn't be my first recommendation

But then again I wouldn't be recommending a PS that small for anything at all to begin with.

If you can alter the PS to one of the off the shelf ones with about 600W Capacity it would be better.

Possible disparity with anticipated performance gain ...

You may be well advised to check out the reviews of this particular card because sometimes the end-user can be fooled by the numbering of the graphics card, assuming it to be better than a lower numbered card in the production sequence.

This is not always the case:

As for the PSU, I concur with OH Smeg. Even if this particular GPU is not power hungry, it will most definitely place a strain on a 220W PSU. Actually, I've never heard of a PSU with such a low wattage. I thought 290W was as low as they went.
