Win 32 Error message - can anyone help?

By disclosure ·
I can't run certain programs on my computer from disk anymore, I don't know if I accidently deleted something important when I was going through Task Manager the other day I may of ended something.
I got an error message saying ".....Is not a valid Win 32 application" how do I resolve this problem?

Could very possibly be virus activity that has caused your problem. Check your system for viruses.

Is this happening with just one program (if yes, which one) or with every program?

Do the programs that WON'T run all have the same file extension? If so, you may have simply gotten an erroneous file extension definition. Spyware is the most likely culprit.

When you do a Virus scan do you do it with Windows Running? If so it will not pickup any memory Viruses and you will be shown a clean system.

Use something like Norton's AV and boot from the CD that way you can perform a AV check without actually loading anything from Windows.

u r right u deleted something. this sometimes happen if u delete files with .dll(dynamic link library) extension. the .exe could be there but if one important file of .dll type is erased, itcant run. Try re-installing ur program. I hope it will help.

The exact cause of this issue

is unknown at this time. Pending a permanent fix, open the MSCONFIG

utility and deselect the /L:ENG entry from

the STARTUP tab.
