WIN 7 STARTUP REPAIR PROBLEMS

THREE DAYS AGO AFTER A MS UPDATE I CAN'T BOOT UP INTO WIN 7 ULTIMATE 64 BIT. NOTHING IS WORKING WITH FIXING THIS. THE STARTUP REPAIR, CHKDSK, AND SCANNOW. CAN'T GET INTO SAFE MODE. ALL RESTORES ARE GONE. CAN'T USE LAST CONFIGURATION. DID ALL THE BOOT REPAIR OPTIONS. AND DID STARTUP REPAIR UNTIL I WAS BLUE IN THE FACE. HOW CAN WINDOWS EXPECT YOU TO FIX A CORRUPT FILE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS? AT THE VERY LEAST THEY COULD AT LEAST TELL YOU THIS IN THE VIEW PROBLEM DETAILS SINCE YOU CAN'T GET INTO THE EVENT LOGS. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. I AM AN IT PERSON AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME THAT I CAN'T FIX IT. FRANKLY I AM TIRED OF WINDOWS SOFTWARE. I AM GOING TO GO TO LINUX AND THEN GETTING A MAC. I AM FED UP WITH THEM AND ALL THEIR PROBLEM SOFTWARES THAT SEEM TO GET WORSE EVERY YEAR SINCE THE LAST STABLE ONE XP. AND NOW NO SUPPORT FOR THIS BECAUSE YOU ARE BEING FORCED TO BUY THE NEWER ONES THAT DO NOT WORK AS WELL AS XP.

I HAVE FIXED MANY MORE PROBLEMS IN WINDOWS THAN I EVER HAD TO WITH LINUX OR MAC. IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY TO THEM AND NOT QUALITY. THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH THIS GOING ON. MANY OF US ARE TIRED OF THEIR REALLY TERRIBLE SOFTWARE. IT HAS MEGA PROBLEMS. IS EASY TO HACK. VERY PRONE TO VIRUSES, MALWARE, SPYWARE, ADWARE AND ETC.

I AM DONE WITH THEM. ALL THEY HAD TO DO IS COME UP WITH BETTER WAYS FOR US TO FIX THEIR ERROR AND VIRUS INFECTED PIECES OF CRAP SOFTWARE.

SINCERELY, PIA C. WINDWOLF

It's considered the equivalent of shouting, and is very rude when asking for assistance.

If you can get to Safe Mode With Command Prompt, try the 'CHKDSK /R' command (without the quotation marks).

Try reposting this in the 'Q&A' forum. The 'Discussion' forum is for matters of general discussion, not specific problems in search of a solution. The 'Water Cooler' is for non-technical discussions. You can submit a question to 'Q&A' here:

http://www.techrepublic.com/forum/questions/post?tag=mantle_skin;content

There are TR members who specifically seek out problems in need of a solution. Although there is some overlap between the forums, you'll find more of those members in 'Q&A' than in 'Discussions' or 'Water Cooler'.

Be sure to use the voting buttons to provide your feedback. Voting a '+' does not necessarily mean that a given response contained the complete solution to your problem, but that it served to guide you toward it. This is intended to serve as an aid to those who may in the future have a problem similar to yours. If they have a ready source of reference available, perhaps won't need to repeat questions previously asked and answered. If a post did contain the solution to your problem, you can also close the question by marking the helpful post as "The Answer".
