In Control Panel, double-click the Network icon and change the Primary Network Logon box to Client for Microsoft Networks. This prompts for a network logon, rather than just a local machine logon.

In addition to the first response, you will have to configure the "Client for Microsoft Windows" by entering the domain name that you are trying to join. Also click on the identification tab and ensure that your workgroup name is the same as your domain name.
